This backplate has been designed to be used in conjunction with the mounting blocks that are available so you can use a stainless steel backplate instead of the harness that you get with the original unit.

This is a low-profile backplate, enabling the rebreather to be kept close to your back, unlike the open circuit type that will throw the unit further away from your back.
